Credits Before College Workshop

Are you resigned to the fact that attending college is expensive?

Most of us hope for the best: scholarships and financial aid, yet try to prepare for the worst: how to repay huge student loans.  There is another way.  Since many introductory college courses are a repeat of those studied in high school, your student can earn college credits for those courses while in high school--and you can cut your college costs in half!

This 2 1/2 hour Workshop includes:

  • Thinking outside of the box--options to consider
  • Credit by Exam--a very inexpensive and efficient way to earn college credit through testing programs such as CLEP and DSST
  • Free Resources and effective Study Tips
  • How to combine earning college credits with your Middle/High school courses
  • MN Transfer Curriculum--What programs are specific to Minnesota and how to take advantage of them during your PSEO years
  • College Degree in less than 4 years. . . now what? Gap Year Options
  • Choosing a career path that fits your student
  • Regional Accreditation --How to "bank" and transfer credits to the college of your choice
  • Setting a course--earn a year of credits before 11th grade, or simply save hundreds of dollars by passing just one exam
  • Where do I begin?
  • Is it possible to earn a Degree for $6,000?  Hear options others are using
  • Comprehensive Resource Packet included

Who should attend?  Parents with students in 6th grade and up.  High school students are encouraged to attend with parent(s).

"Your workshop this past Monday evening was wonderful! It was the most informative and useful college prep workshop that I have attended.  Keep spreading the word!  Now the parents of some of my daughter's public and private school friends are asking questions, so you are making a difference!"      ~Laurie B
