Why did you choose Thomas Edison State University?
August 28, 2010
Thomas Edison State University (TESC) is a regionally-accredited state college in New Jersey that is a leader in distance ed. Though they have an actual campus with thousands of students attending traditional courses, they have a large crowd earning their degrees through nontraditional means, providing greater flexibility than a typical brick and mortar campus.
One HUGE benefit of working with TESC is that you can transfer in up to 120 credits (100%) earned elsewhere. Since they are regionally accredited, this means all CLEP and DSST credits, credits from Anoka Ramsey Community College, St. Cloud State University, Northwestern College, etc. are all accepted. What is required is that the student fulfill the course requirements within their chosen degree plan, which is posted on their website.
The end result: High school students can complete their degree at their own pace (often early), earning credit by exam during their HS years AND taking advantage of MN's PSEO program. ALL credits can be transferred in without losing any in the process. The annual enrollment fee is just under $3,000 so a savvy consumer will accumulate credits toward their degree plan, enrolling in TESC within one year of completing their degree.
